Susan Meyers, Co- Chair
Susan is a Loyola Alumni, where she was a Crowe Scholar and graduated Cum Laude. Since then she has been active with a number of private practice firms, but found her calling with the Advocacy Center. As the managing attorney, Susan is brings excpetional skill and professionalism to the wide range of activites the Center covers. Susan has been a dedicated board member since 2009.
J. Dalton Courson, Co-Chair
Dalton has worked as an associate at Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann L.L.C. since 2003, where his practice focuses on litigation. He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was a member of the editorial board of the Virginia Journal of Social Policy and the Law. Before attending law school, Dalton served as a corps member for Teach for America, and worked for two years in Houston as a special education teacher in a middle school. He received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard University in 1998, with a major in psychology. He was admitted to the bar of Louisiana in 2003.
Kendra Norwood, Secretary
Kendra is a Staff Attorney with the U.S. 5th Circuit. Kendra is an alumni of Howard University, and received her J.D. from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where she was awarded the William H. Bowen Scholarship, the Black Law Students Association Dean Bowen scholarship and was an editor of the Law Review. Kendra has been a Board member since 2008 and currently lives in Baton Rouge.
Matt Allen
Matt is a Social Security attorney in Shreveport, who was previously with the Legal Services of North Louisiana. He is an alumni of Texas A&M, completed a Masters in Political Science at Virginia Tech, and received his J.D. from Tulane. Matt is a member of numerous community organizations and has been names by Shreveport Chamber of Commerce as a "Top 40 under 40" young professionals in North Louisiana. Matt has been a Board member since 2007 and currently lives in Shreveport.
Carroll Rodrigue
Carroll received his undergraduate degree in finance from LSU in Baton Rouge and his M.B.A. from the University of New Orleans. He has worked in the hospitality industry for the past 12 years, and currently serves as Director of Human Resources for The Astor Crowne Plaza and The Alexa hotels in New Orleans. He has been awarded advanced professional certifications in human resources by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Motel Association. A volunteer for AIDSLaw for many years, this native of Donaldsonville, Louisiana, has lived in New Orleans since 1987. Carroll has been an AIDSLaw Board member since 2003.
Sergio Farfan
Sergio is a long-time community advocate. Sergio, born and raised in Mexico City, has a Master's degree in higher education and serves on the Board of Directors of several AIDS organizations and is active in a number of community groups. Sergio is a tireless advocate for who currently lives in Baton Rouge. He has been on the AIDSLaw Board since 2009.
Susan Meyers
Susan is presently the managing attorney with The Advocacy Center, fighting for clients in antidiscrimination, ADA, the Rehabilitation Act and Fair Housing Act. In addition, Susan has extensive experience with numerous New Orleans firms, after earning her J.D. Cum Laude from Loyola University. Susan currently lives in New Orleans and has been a welcome, energetic addition to the board starting in 2009.
Lesli Harris
Lesli Harris is a returning board member. Lesli received her undergraduate degree from University of Virginia, then returned to Tulane for her J.D. She then went on to be an associate with Stone, Pigman, Walther, Wittmann. Lesli went on to receive her LLM at NYU, while serving as a litigator for NBC Universal. We are happy to say that Lesli has again returned to New Orleans, and is once again on staff at Stone Pigman, and has resumed her AIDSLaw Board position as of 2009.
Rob Warren, Treasurer
Mr. Warren is our newest board member and comes to us eager to use his expertise to aid the growth of the Agency. Rob recieved his J.D from Tulane and has practiced a wide range of law, including coordinating and Plaintiff's litigation in class action cases. Mr. Warren is active in several sport and social organizations and we pleased to welcome him to the AIDSLaw board. Member since 2010.
Charlotte Phillips
Charlotte is currently a Senior Litigation Paralegal with Barrasso, Usdin, Kupperman, Freeman, and Sarver. Charlotte received her undergraduate degree from University of Southern Mississippi, and has served as paralegal for a number of New Orleans finest firms. In addition to her Paralegal experience, she has also served as an instructor at University of New Orleans. Charlotte currently lives in New Orleans and has served as a Board member since 2009.
