Emergency Information

In the event of an evacuation and inability to relocate within seventy-two (72) hours, AIDSLaw can be reached through the following contact:

The Philadelphia Center
2020 Centenary Blvd.
Shreveport, LA 71101
(318) 222-6633
(866) 513-2863
(318) 222-6678 (fax)

AIDSLaw is committed to assisting and educating clients through the difficulties of preparing for an evacuation. To this end, AIDSLaw has prepared an evacuation preparedness plan for clients.

Have a planned evacuation destination, away from the projected path of the storm. Knowing where you would go will help you focus on the resources available in the area where you go.

If you already have an evacuation plan in place, you can provide AIDSLaw with alternate contact information that will remain confidential.

If you intend to evacuate by car, be sure that the car is properly maintained, especially oil, water and tire pressure. Be sure to have the car's title, registration and proof of insurance for the car. Don't wait until the last minute to gas up.

If you have pets, plan ahead because some hotels may not accept them. Check for kennels in the place you intend to go if your family or friends can not take in your pets. If you can't take your pets, contact the Louisiana SPCA, 701 Thayer Street, New Orleans, LA 70114, 504-368-5191.
